New & Noteworthy: Wall-Mounted Bedside Shelves, Color Optional

Until recently, Toronto furniture maker Dustin Kroft was focused on large furniture—tables, chairs, cabinets, and floor mirrors. Then while he was designing a nightstand, he became fixated on “the idea of being able to clean around it.” So Kroft fashioned a wall-mounted version with a single drawer and integrated cord management. “I like to create order so I’m drawn to making things that help others do the same,” says Kroft. Kroft Buoy 10 Floating Drawer Shelf in Salmon — Above: The Buoy 10, shown here in Salmon, is available for $312. Kroft offers complete customization for the finish—from wood type to paint color—“to match your favorite Benjamin Moore sample,” he says.

Kroft Buoy 10 Floating Drawer Shelf in Watermelon — Above: Here it is in Watermelon; also $312. The finish is a tinted water-based lacquer finish, and the shelf has a dovetailed solid wood drawer and integrated cord management.
