Montana of Denmark solves household storage challenges by enabling its customers to design their own furniture. Since 1982, Montana has tackled unexplored corners of the home; it recently launched new lines for the entry and bath. As always, its approach is simple and practical, offering modular, cube-shaped furniture and accompanying accessories that can be combined in countless ways—and ordered in 42 colors. Here are some of the possibilities we’ve been admiring.

Above: This combination entry cabinet and square mirror is known as Welcome. As with all Montana units, the cabinet can be wall hung or mounted on legs or castors, and the interior can be customized with shelves in different setups.
Above: Montana’s shoe bench incorporates shoe storage. A versatile shallow shelf is ideal for compact spaces and can be wall-mounted on its side.
The designs are shown in a color called Fjord; like all Montana components, they’re available in the company palette of 42 colors.
Living Areas
Above:The Read book shelf is one of the many Montana designs available in the United States from the Danish Design Store. Montana’s components are made of MDF finished with water-based lacquer. Prices reflect the fact that manufacturing takes place in Denmark on a small scale.

Bedroom
Above: The Montana Wardrobe comprises five modules, each 60 centimeters (23.6 inches) deep, that can be put together in multiple ways. The larger units can be fitted with doors, drawers, trays, and shelves.
Bathroom
Above: Wash basins are integrated into Montana storage modules in the bathroom (the basin and counter are made of a composite called Rector).
Montana’s bathroom storage units come in 10 sizes and its wash basin units in 12 sizes. They can be wall-mounted or freestanding. There are also nine square and rectangular mirror sizes for the bath and elsewhere, and the frames come in 42 colors.
