New & Noteworthy: This Crowdsourced Cutting Board Is Ingenious

Food52 Five Two Double-Sided Cutting Board

When Food52 set out to create the best cutting board ever, they did what any modern, tech-savvy company would do: They crowdsourced for ideas. They asked their followers what their dream cutting board looked and felt like, what sorts of features it would have, and what kind of material it would be made of. More than 10,000 responses later, they had an answer—and that very clever answer hit their online store this week.

Have a look. (And make sure to scroll to the end for its bonus feature.) Do you think it’s perfect? How would you change it?

Above: In many ways, the Five Two Double-Sided Cutting Board looks like a standard cutting board. It’s made in Vermont of durable solid American maple and has a generous size (18 by 13 inches). What makes it different is that it’s designed to be multipurpose.
