Document Boxes: A Treasure Trove at Restoration Hardware

My husband and I keep our passports, birth certificates, and other important documents in an accordion folder that we store in our home office. Our system works fine, but lately I’ve been thinking an upgrade is in order; after all, VIPs (Very Important Paperwork) deserve VIP storage spots.

I’ve noticed that Restoration Hardware has quite a few well-made document boxes. Here are some favorites.

Restoration Hardware Linen Office Storage Accessories
Above: Restoration Hardware’s well-priced line of Linen Office Storage Accessories includes a slim document box that looks both important and discreet. The line, which features brass hardware and engineered wood wrapped in linen, is offered in Black (shown), Sand, and Fog and ranges from $39 to $69; the document box is $55.
Restoration Hardware Handcrafted Metal Box
Above: Its Handcrafted Metal Boxes are made of brass-plated stainless steel sheets that were folded into shape; $115 to $175. Shown is the antiqued brass finish; there’s also a pewter finish.
Restoration Hardware 19th C. Belgian Deed Box Collection
Above: Inspired by antique Belgian storage boxes, the 19th C. Belgian Deed Box Collection features a decorative keyhole, a brass handle (that rests flat), and an aged patina. It’s handcrafted from iron; $95 to $115.
Restoration Hardware Shagreen Box Collection
Above: The luxe Art Deco–inspired Shagreen Box Collection is characterized by a pebbled shagreen-embossed leather exterior outlined with a thin stainless steel trim; $395 to $595.
