Aha! Hack: An Easy-Breezy DIY Whiteboard

I was never willing to get on the chalkboard paint bandwagon that peaked in the early years of this decade. Besides the inevitable chalk dust and smudges that turned me off, hadn’t we all already agreed that the sound of fingernails on a chalkboard is the absolute worst? Instead of chalkboard paint, consider its polar opposite: whiteboard paint.

For best results, apply it to just a small area, like Scherrer did in her home office, above. (You don’t want to feel like you’re about to give a presentation every time you look at it, after all.) Use the smooth surface to jot down reminders, grocery lists, schedules, and more—all mess- and squeak-free.
